CASE 2012 Fall Breakfast Sponsor - The DAVEY Tree Expert Company
Sept 21, 2012 at Marie Callender's

Given the ongoing drought conditions of Central Texas, we were excited to welcome one of DAVEY's Austin Managing Partners and Chief Arborist, Dave Madden, as our guest speaker. Thanks for joining CASE as we all learned how to deal with trees in these harsh environments and what to do to plan for the future.

Dave Madden

A few notes about our speaker: Dave Madden grew up in Weslaco, Texas and has stayed in the state ever since. After graduating from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in horticulture, he worked in the pecan industry for 2 years before moving to Austin to pursue urban tree care with Caldwell Tree. Caldwell was acquired by DAVEY in 1999 and Dave has been a member of the DAVEY team ever since.

Dave is an ISA Certified Arborist, Texas Oak Wilt Certified, and has numerous member- ships in local, state, and national trade groups, including the Society of Commercial Arborists, Texas Nursery and Landscape Association, and the Central Texas Golf Course Superintendents Association. When Dave is not working with homeowners to preserve and enhance their personal forests, you'll find him following all things Texas Aggie, travelling the globe with his wife of 31 years, Jill Madden, or puttering on his 5 acre Hill Country paradise in Driftwood, Texas.

Dave's favorite tree? The Lacey oak. He says, "it is a tough, compact little oak that can grow in incredibly rugged terrain and nothing can beat the smoky blue-green leaf contrasted against the typical Hill Country flora."
